What You Need to Know Before Installing Your eSIM

Before installing your eSIM, make sure your device supports eSIM technology, such as recent smartphones or tablets. Ensure you have a stable internet connection, either Wi-Fi or mobile data.

When Should You Install Your eSIM?

We recommend installing your eSIM while connected to a reliable internet source, like Wi-Fi or stable mobile data, to ensure a smooth setup process. If you're preparing for a trip, it's best to Install your eSIM a day before travel. Data starts automatically in covered areas.

How to install and activate your eSIM on Android Devices

Once you've purchased a eSIM data package from us, you need to install and activate your eSIM (digital SIM card) on your Android device so it's there when you need it.

  • Installation with QR Code

  • Manual Installation

Go to Setting on your device 

Open Settings:

> Locate and open the Settings app on your Android/Samsung device.

 

Navigate to Connections:

> In the Settings menu, tap on Connections.

 

Select SIM Manager:

> In the Connections menu, scroll down and tap on SIM Manager.

 

Add eSIM:

>Under the eSIMs section, tap on Add eSIM.

 

(Depending on your device, it might also say “Add mobile plan”)

Scan QR Code

Select "Scan QR Code":

> Under the options displayed, tap on Scan QR code from eSIM1st.

 

Scan the QR Code:

> Use your device's camera to scan the QR code provided by eSIM1st. Ensure the QR code is clearly visible and fits within the scanning frame.

 

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S22 or newer, tap the photo icon to upload a screenshot of your QR code instead.

Finalize the eSIM installation

Add Data eSIM:

> On the Add Data eSIM screen, tap the Add button to initiate the process.

 

Wait for the eSIM to Be Added:

> The device will display a message saying Adding Data eSIM.... Wait for the process to complete. This may take a few moments.

 

Complete Setup:

> Once the eSIM is successfully added, you will be redirected back to the SIM Manager screen. Tap Done to finish the setup.

Configure your eSIM

Enable eSIM:

> In the SIM Manager menu, locate your eSIM under the eSIMs section and ensure the toggle next to it is turned on.

 

Select Mobile Data:

> Scroll down to the Preferred SIMs section and tap on Mobile data.

 

Choose eSIM:

> In the Mobile data SIM options, select your eSIM from the list.

 

Confirm the Change:

> A confirmation dialog will appear asking if you want to change the mobile data SIM to the selected eSIM. Tap Change to proceed.

> Locate and open the Settings app on your Android/Samsung device.

 

Navigate to Connections:

> In the Settings menu, tap on Connections.

 

Select SIM Manager:

> In the Connections menu, scroll down and tap on SIM Manager.

 

Add eSIM:

>Under the eSIMs section, tap on Add eSIM.

Enter Activation Code

Select Scan QR Code:

> Tap Scan QR code.

 

Enter Activation Code:

> Tap Enter activation code and manually input the code, SMDP+ Address and the Activation Code (SMDP+ ID), provided by eSIM1st

Finalize the eSIM installation

Add Data eSIM:

> On the Add Data eSIM screen, tap the Add button to initiate the process.

 

Wait for the eSIM to Be Added:

> The device will display a message saying Adding Data eSIM.... Wait for the process to complete. This may take a few moments.

 

Complete Setup:

> Once the eSIM is successfully added, you will be redirected back to the SIM Manager screen. Tap Done to finish the setup.

Access Mobile Networks:

> In the Connections menu, tap on Mobile networks.

 

Enable Data Roaming:

> Locate the Data roaming option and toggle it on. This will allow your device to use mobile data while roaming.

 

Confirm Roaming Activation (if prompted):

> If a warning message appears regarding additional charges for roaming, confirm to proceed.
