What You Need to Know Before Installing Your eSIM

Before installing your eSIM, make sure your device supports eSIM technology, such as recent smartphones or tablets. Ensure you have a stable internet connection, either Wi-Fi or mobile data.

When Should You Install Your eSIM?

We recommend installing your eSIM while connected to a reliable internet source, like Wi-Fi or stable mobile data, to ensure a smooth setup process. If you're preparing for a trip, it's best to Install your eSIM a day before travel. Data starts automatically in covered areas.

How to install and activate your Google Pixel

Once you've purchased a eSIM data package from us, you need to install and activate your eSIM (digital SIM card) on your Google Pixel device so it's there when you need it.

Go to Setting on your device 

Open Settings:

> Go to your device's Settings and tap on Network & Internet.

 

Access SIM Settings:

> Tap on SIMs.

 

Add an eSIM:

> Tap the + icon to add a new SIM.

> On the next screen, select Download a SIM instead? to proceed with eSIM setup.

Download the eSIM

Download Your SIM:

> On the Download your SIM screen, tap Next to begin the eSIM setup process.

 

Scan the QR Code:

> Use your phone's camera to scan the QR code provided by your eSIM provider. Ensure the code is centered in the frame.

 

Confirm eSIM Installation:

> When prompted with the available eSIM (e.g., eSIM1st), tap Download to proceed.

Activate and start using your eSIM data

Select an Inactive eSIM:

> Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs.

> Under the Downloaded SIMs section, select the inactive eSIM (e.g., My eSIM 2).

 

Enable the eSIM:

> On the eSIM settings page, toggle Use SIM to On.

 

Enable Mobile Data and Roaming:

> Scroll down and toggle Mobile Data to On for internet access.

> If you plan to use the eSIM while roaming, toggle Roaming to On.

- Activation Code (e.g., LPA:1$rsp.truphone.com$JQ-20BNUQ-1UTJQXP).

 

Complete Activation:

> After entering the details, tap Continue to validate and download the eSIM profile.

> Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the setup.

The QR code won’t scan, or the camera doesn’t detect it?

  • Ensure the QR code is well-lit and free of smudges.
  • Clean your iPhone camera lens.
  • Increase screen brightness if scanning from another device.
  • Manually enter the eSIM details.

The eSIM setup process completes, but the plan isn’t active?

  • Restart your Phone after installation.
  • Ensure you are connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data during activation.
  • Confirm with your carrier that your eSIM is provisioned correctly.

Weak signal or no network after activating the eSIM?

  • Verify that the eSIM profile is enabled.
  • Toggle Airplane Mode on and off to refresh network connections.
